Beginning just below the Lodge, the trip winds down 6 miles of the Macal River through moderate rapids and verdant rainforest. Guests often see large green female Iguanas and even bigger orange male iguanas, or "Garobos", as well as Wood Rails, Toucans, King Fishers, and Hummingbirds. A visit to the Belize Botanical Garden with a light lunch alone the way offers a lovely respite. The journey continues downriver and when guests dock at Chaa Creek Lodge and can choose to visit the Blue Morpho Butterfly Center. We then pick up the guests and drive them back to Black Rock Lodge.
**lunch and entry fees to butterfly museum not included**
